Jennifer Garner evoked memories of her Alias protagonist this week when she went undercover at an L.A. movie theater.
Ever since Alias ended in 2006, fans have been clamoring to see the show get a reboot. This month’s release of Garner’s new movie, Peppermint, is as close as fans will get to seeing the kickass moves of agent Sydney Bristow back in full effect.
Though the flick is receiving scathing reviews from critics who’ve seen it (only 13% liked it), audiences seem to be loving it, with 82% on Rotten Tomatoes giving it a full bucket of corn.
This may be why Garner, who posted a video of herself on Instagram on Sunday, headed out to see her movie alongside the general public at an Los Angeles movie theater earlier this week. In her post Garner said the studio encouraged her to go to the theater and see for herself.
Regardless of whether audiences liked it or not, Instagram users (over 885,000) enjoyed watching Garner sneaking around incognito.
Was she effective at escaping her fellow moviegoers’ attention? Let’s just say Bristow’s job is safe for now.
Garner warned audiences that she could be lurking behind a curtain in any theater:
Fans showered Garner with praise for the movie and for her hilarious Insta account:
As for that Alias comeback, it looks like we’ll all just have to wait and see what J.J. Abrams has to say.
