Barbra Streisand’s New Single ‘Don’t Lie To Me’ Is A Response To Trump’s Presidency–And She Doesn’t Hold Back

Legendary singer and actor Barbra Streisand may have won an Academy Award for “Funny Girl,” but her latest single is no laughing matter.

On Thursday, Streisand released “Don’t Lie to Me.” The song thrums with frustration at President Donald Trump, expressing the exasperation felt by many Americans at his shameless lies and incessant self-concern.

Streisand has long been politically vocal, but in a recent interview, she said she knew it was time to put her outrage on the record:

“I’ve written many articles about this … this person … who has no manners, insults everybody, makes fun of disabled people. I don’t know what to say, I’ve written like 15 Huffington Post pieces … what else could I think about? It’s my protest, in a sense, about this unprecedented time in our history.”

With lyrics like “How do you sleep when the world is turning? / All that we built has come undone,” Streisand doesn’t hold back for a second.

And Twitter is living for it.

Trump supporters were NOT happy.

But something gave the impression that Babs would be unbothered.

The single, which will be a track on her upcoming album Walls, may be lamenting the nuisance of Trump’s America, but there’s one lyric of hope: Everyone answers to someone.
