After 1988’s Child’s Play forever altered our perception of toys and how we play with them, the campy franchise is getting the reboot treatment with the demonic killer-inhabited “Good Guy” doll set to terrorize a new generation of fans.
But not everyone is game.
Actress Jennifer Tilly, who played the serial killer-turned doll, Tiffany Valentine, in the Bride of Chucky (1998), is not endorsing the Lars Klevberg-directed remake scheduled for a June 21, 2019 release.
Tilly, 60, tweeted her disapproval of the new Child’s Play that will not feature any of the original actors from the films.
“New ‘Chucky’ movie? Ummm…no. Tiffany and I are gonna sit this one out,” she wrote on Friday, adding the hashtag: #NotmyChucky.

Even Tilly’s alter ego accompanying her in the photo appears to be scoffing over news of the remake. They’re both not having it.
(OMG did that doll just sneer?)
Fans of the former Chucky films were somewhat excited over the announcement of the new Child’s Play but confirmed their lack of interest after Tilly’s disapproving tweet.
“Child’s Play” movie is back after all these years!!!😱🔪
But I’m only going to watch Chucky terrorize the city if @JenniferTilly is in it.🎥https://t.co/hPhUh45p91— Dan Fleyshman (@DanFleyshman) February 8, 2019

Jennifer Tilly is what makes chucky. Why do they have to wreck a classic and change directions. This is so Hollywood they touch things twist it around #NotmyChucky keep it to the original, keep it classic. Lots of loves I’ll stand with you and a lot of others will agree.

Tilly can’t be replaced. And her age-defying looks weren’t lost on fans.
She still looks great !!!

She’s my Single White Female.

I love the matching outfits

Although some have the actress’s back, you can’t prevent ardent horror fans from flocking to theaters.
She's my favorite character. I liked the current storyline they had. I'm not into the reboot either but I'm still going to watch it tho because I'm a fan of horror.

if they're attempting something stylistically unique, it can come out great. The Evil Dead and Maniac remakes for example gets a lot of disdain for nothing when they're really amazing horror films because of the filammkers approached them with a fresh and unique style.

I support both, cant wait to see the new TV series but Universal is keeping the franchise away from the theaters and itll be nice to see a new Chucky film in theaters again. There's room for all, it works in the comic book world, why not the horror world

But for the majority, their minds are made up.
