If you’re like most fans of the Star Wars franchise, you’ve been feeling some sads about the fact that space buddies Luke Skywalker and Han Solo never got to have one final hang before they both died* by the end of The Force Awakens.
*juries still out on Luke, come to think of it they never found Han’s body…
Anyway, thankfully, we have the internet to comfort what ails us, and Twitter champ Mark Hamill recently did just that.
Hamill tweeted a photo of a very-much-still-alive-IRL him and Harrison Ford embracing in a hug with the caption:
“What a Han/Luke reunion might have been like.”
And with some 32,000 retweets, it seems to be hitting fans right in the heartstrings!

Shut up YOU’RE crying!
The photo happened during the ceremony celebrating Hamill’s new star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which Ford attended.
The only thing missing, of course, was the other member of Star Wars’ O.G. trio: Leia, the iconic princess-turned-general played by Carrie Fisher, who passed away in 2016.
Ford honored their fallen comrade, saying:
“When thinking about today, I was really sorry that we don’t have the other member of our trio here to celebrate with us. But I feel her presence.”
Jeez, what is up with my eyes today!
The pollen count is super high I think probably stop looking at me!
Natch, folks on the internet were similarly pollen-stricken and still very much feeling the Solo/Skywalker love and loss!

And some were still a bit miffed at being denied a reunion.
Not only was this stolen from the fans, it was stolen from the actors too. https://t.co/lPP0uqsYKc

Not giving us this reunion on screen and see Luke, Han and Leia all united again fighting against tyranny is the single greatest crime in the history of Star Wars. Seriously what the F was JJ Abrams thinking ????

That was one of the deleted scenes I wish was in TLJ: that little moment when Luke goes into his hut and allows himself a moment of grief.

But it looks like these miffed fans may just get what they’re longing for in Episode 9. Hamill is confirmed to appear in the upcoming yet-to-be-titled Episode IX in a beyond-the-grave cameo, while rumors recently surfaced that Ford will as well!
In fact, it may even be a trifecta: unused footage of Carrie Fisher will also be used for a Leia cameo.
The new episode drops December 20, which from the sounds of it is a day we will definitely have something in our eyes!
