The Cast Of The New ‘Charlie’s Angels’ Just Gave Us A Kick-Ass First Look

The spy team known as Charlie’s Angels haven’t hit the big screen since 2003, when McG’s Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle hit theaters.

But in our age of reboots, it was only a matter of time before Charles Townsend (the reclusive millionaire now turned “gazillionaire”) put together a new team to accomplish the missions that only they could. Except that this new outing will be helmed by a woman: Elizabeth Banks.

The new team features Kristen Stewart, Ella Balinska and Naomi Scott, with Banks appearing as Bosley.

Entertainment Weekly gave fans their first sneak preview of the film:

Fans loved the Angels’ new image!

Banks told Entertainment Weekly about her vision when writing the new movie and how it influenced her directing:

“It was important to me to make a movie about women working together and supporting each other, and not make a movie about their romantic entanglements or their mother they don’t call enough. When I’m at work, I don’t talk about those things. I get on with my job. It felt important to do that for the Angels, to treat them with the respect their skill set demands.”

Banks was also inspired by the Mission: Impossible franchise’s use of both action and humor.

“We talked a lot about [those movies]. Those films work best when the team is together, when Ving Rhames is in it, and Simon [Pegg] is in it, and Rebecca Ferguson. That sensibility really matters to me.”

This is the first iteration of Charlie’s Angels to be helmed by a woman, and Banks is excited to be leading the charge.

“It’s a really exciting moment for female-driven films. Audiences are really looking for those aspirational stories about real and relatable characters, and I think the women in my movie are definitely real and relatable, but most importantly, I think they’re really fun.”

A few Twitter users couldn’t help but lovingly poke fun at the Angel’s new outfits.

But, ultimately, people were excited for the reboot!

People are already lining up to get a glimpse of the new Angels!

It’s a good thing Banks is reviving the dormant franchise because the world needs some Angels now more than ever.

Charlie’s Angels will be hitting theaters on November 15—be prepared!
