That Tattoo Sophie Turner Got A Year Ago Turned Out To Be A Huge Spoiler—And Fans Are Shook

Perhaps no fandom is as obsessed with avoiding spoilers as the Game of Thrones fandom has been. And they are shook that they have been staring the biggest spoiler of all dead in the face for a year—and had no idea it was even happening!

All those Twitter hysterics for nothing!

That said: THIS WHOLE ARTICLE IS A HUGE SPOILER FOR THE WHOLE SHOW. If the Game of Thrones finale is still sitting in your DVR (do people have those anymore?), this is your chance to hit the back button.

Okay, now, let’s talk about how the ending of the show has been just dangling out there on Sophie Turner’s arm for an entire revolution of the Earth around the Sun!

So if you’re a big fan of the show, you may remember that about a year ago, Turner, who played Sansa Stark, got a new tattoo.

The artist, Lauren Winzer, shared her work on Instagram:

Fans, of course, will know that that is a direwolf that represents the House of Stark, with the caption, “The pack survives.”

Which is, of course, how the entire show ends! Of course, no one knew that a year ago, but the tattoo set off a whirlwind of speculation from eagle-eyed fans.

Turner, during an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, put all that speculation to rest, explaining that it’s a not a spoiler but rather just a reference to the stark family motto: “When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives.”

As Turner put it to Corden:

“It’s just a quote from last season. Everyone figures that the pack really does survive, but it’s just a moral that I like to live by.”

Well, turns out!
