Russian President Vladimir Putin has denied any responsibility for the chemical attack in Damascus, but also issued strong words against the United States, England and France, calling the airstrikes an act of aggression. Russia also stated that they would be calling a meeting with United Nations Security Council, saying the strikes:
…would have a “destructive influence on the entire system of international relations [and are a] clear and present danger to world peace.
In a speech on Friday, President Trump spoke out against Iran and Russia, saying:
To Iran and to Russia I ask, What kind of nation wants to be associated with the mass murder of innocent men, women and children? The nations of the world can be judged by the friends they keep. President Putin and his government promised the world that they would guarantee the elimination of Syria’s chemical weapons,. Russia must decide if it will continue down this dark path or if it will join with civilized nations as a force of stability and peace.
In response, Russian Ambassador Anatoly Antonov issued a statement that read:
Again, we are being threatened. We warned that such actions will not be left without consequences. Insulting the president of Russia is unacceptable and inadmissible. The U.S. ― the possessor of the biggest arsenal of chemical weapons ― has no moral right to blame other countries.
Vladimir Putin denounced the U.S. retaliation strikes in Syria as an “act of aggression.” https://t.co/bZQQecjA4c

Things are so far from normal we don't know if this is theater or real. Zero trust in putin or trump.

There are a lot of people who don’t trust any of this.
What if, putin and +rump had planned this together, for distraction, and to “solve” this issue together.
Hey, who knows.

Trump patted himself on the back after the strikes by taking to Twitter.
A perfectly executed strike last night. Thank you to France and the United Kingdom for their wisdom and the power of their fine Military. Could not have had a better result. Mission Accomplished!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 14, 2018
Mission Accomplished? I seem to remember that same ill placed statement being touted by the last Republican president.
Didn't play well then.
Won't play well now.
