We all know Jim Carrey as a beloved actor and comedian. While he was known for straight up comedies like the Ace Ventura and Dumb and Dumber franchises, he also made a star turn in the movie Man on the Moon in which he played the late comedian Andy Kaufman, as well as in dramas such as The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Of late, he’s been making news for a different form of creative expression. He’s been making political paintings.
This past March, he graced us all with this portrait of President Trump that he hoped might be considered for the Smithsonian…
Dear Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery @NPG, I know it’s early but I’d like to submit this as the official portrait of our 45th President, Donald J. Trump. It’s called, 'You Scream. I Scream. Will We Ever Stop Screaming?' pic.twitter.com/LrCmlXXpv7

He also created this chilling portrait of John Bolton…

This riff on the Scott Pruitt scandal…
I looked on Trivago. The cheapest room in Washington is a youth hostel with bunkbeds at $81 a night. The $50 room Scott Pruitt got was a bribe from an energy lobbyist. Need your pipeline approved? Do it through Pruitt! pic.twitter.com/DaSdgvFPmv

And this bleak Bannon…

But on Monday, he tweeted out his latest portrait of FBI director James Comey with a simple implication…
The road to Trump’s White House was paved with good intentions. ;^ pic.twitter.com/YzOnLjJsxk
— Jim Carrey (@JimCarrey) April 23, 2018
Yes, that despite the former FBI Director’s seemingly pure intent, the impact is that he helped throw the election to Trump, who Comey himself has called ‘morally unfit’ to be President.
Many were just impressed with Carrey’s skills…
Jim this is really impressive expressions through art. Always been a fan of your movies but your art….captivating!
