Snoop Dogg and Donald Trump have some long standing beef. Snoop has never made his disdain for 45 a secret, he even chained up a Trumpalike in a music video. Snoop has vocally disagreed with policy, with things Trump’s statements, and with who Trump is as a person. It’s got so many layers it’s like a parfait of disdain. Trump isn’t exactly a fan of Snoop’s either. He angrily tweeted about that music video and claimed Snoop had a failing career.
Like all beefs, there’s a back story. The two were cool way back in 2007. Snoop did some work with Trump on The Apprentice. During the episode, Trump made an interesting comment about Snoop.
“He’s a great guy. And he’s a lot different than you think. You know, you think he’s a wild man? He’s a very, very smart, tough, businessman, in addition to being a great musician.”
In 2011, Snoop participated in the roast of Donald Trump for Comedy Central. One of the jokes Snoop made that night was about Trump potentially running for president. The joke took a jab at Trump’s racist tenant practices. Snoop joked that if Trump ran and won, it wouldn’t be the first time he pushed a black family out of their home. Even then, the relationship was cool.
Then came 2016. Trump actually ran for president, and Snoop spoke very publicly about not voting for Trump. When Trump won, Snoop was public about his disappointment and his belief that Trump was entirely unqualified for the position. Snoop has kept true to that stance since then.
He even told Instagram about it.
We’re not entirely sure how Snoop’s public image went from “terrifying gangsta” to “everyone’s cool uncle with swag” – but it did. After the midterm elections, Uncle Snoop got feisty. Trump was angry about Democrats winning the House, and Snoop decided to commemorate the moment with an adventure. He decided to take Instagram along.
First he posted a teaser video, saying he felt like doing some “gangster sh!t” at the White House.
He asked if he should do it like there was any chance Instagram would say no. Away we go on our adventure with Snoop! Let’s get in the car.
Even when he’s on a mission, Snoop has time for the fans.
And finally, a relaxing blunt and this gem of a quote: “F*ck the President.”
So what does Uncle Snoop do after a busy afternoon of peaceful protest? Netflix.
Instagram loved Snoop for this. One person even tried to turn it into #WhiteHouseBluntChallenge. For legal reasons we don’t recommend trying it. Yes, it’s legal in DC but there are rules about this sort of thing.
Some comments called his actions disrespectful, immature and a grab for attention – so we want to know what you think. Did Snoop go too far? Was his stunt no big deal? Sound off.
