With November 6 just around the corner, homemaking guru Martha Stewart encouraged fans to vote by giving them something that would put a spring in their step on the way to the polls.
The 77-year-old attended the Alzheimer’s Association Rita Hayworth Gala on Tuesday wearing a denim sheath dress and matching jacket from her own QVC fashion line.
But what caught everyone’s attention were her bedazzled Aerosoles sandals accented with a one-word directive: “VOTE.”
We’ll be there, Martha!
Prior to stepping out for the event, Stewart posted a photo of her custom-made footwear and captioned it by saying, “What better way to send the most important message! Emblazoned in faux diamonds on @Aerosoles_shoes sandals is the word VOTE.”
She stressed the importance of making your voice heard:
“Nothing is more important right now! Get up! Get out! Vote! Election Day is right around the corner I am wearing these shoes with my diamond emblazoned denim shift and jacket from Martha Stewart @qvc tonight to the gala @alzassociation Vote NOVEMBER 6 2018″
She also made sure her Twitter followers will put their best foot forward.

The color choice is surely a deliberate one.
Is your Choice of Color an indication of how you vote?

The iconic businesswoman told People she placed each of the faux diamonds onto the Aerosoles sandal straps herself.
She told People at Tuesday’s gala in New York City:
“We’re voting for what we want and need and everybody should do it. The more of us that turn out to vote, the more of us will get what we want and need.”
This is not the first time Stewart has dabbled in politics. Though she once worked with Donald Trump on her own spinoff of The Apprentice show, The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, the authority on all things craftsy made it very clear she would not be voting for him during the 2016 presidential election.
Trump once bashed her show for having low ratings. According to ABC News, he said:
“I think it [Stewart’s show] probably hurt mine and I sort of predicted that it would, because there was a lot of confusion in the world.”
Stewart expressed concern about a Trump presidency in a September 18, 2016, interview with CNN Money:
“There is so much to know and so much to learn and so much diplomacy and kindness and introspection that goes with that kind of job. And it does not exist in the world of Donald Trump.”
She added that the 2016 election was one of the most important elections in the last hundred years.
“We have to be very certain that we elect a person who has experience, knowledge, a base of education in the world of world politics as well as domestic politics and so obviously I’m voting for Hillary Clinton. And we just can’t have a country run by someone who is totally unprepared for what comes.”
Stewart looked radiant in a denim dress and jacket, also accented with rhinestones.
Stewart said during the event:
“Alzheimer’s is affecting more and more people and we want to understand why. It’s a very serious thing. And with an aging population, more and more people will have this insidious disease and we have to do something about it.”
