An Australian church shocked some folks with its message of forgiveness. At least we think that’s what it was. The lewd message may have been unintentional but it raised more than a few eyebrows.
The sign at Surfers Paradise Anglican Church of the Holy Spirit read:
Forgiveness is swallowing when you would rather spit.
When the church was contacted about the sign, media was told that the senior minister, Mike Uptin, put the sign up before taking the following day off.
The spokesperson explained the meaning of the sign, saying:
Swallow your words and think before you say anything.
Maybe next time they could just say that?

Fantastic. Just brilliant. Be interesting to see if patronage increases much.

If the church is struggling to come up with a new slogan, here are some they can try…
Sign outside DC church. Does that mean they also forgive the Caps for dropping Game 1? pic.twitter.com/aX020yAFDz
