Rihanna is no stranger to trying out weird fashion trends on the internet.
But this time she had a little help from her friends.
Look at those penciled in eyebrows!
I’ve spent years learning how to draw my damn eyebrows then Rihanna goes and does that! pic.twitter.com/9Ct1CXmevI

Planning to start copying Rihanna’s penciled-in-eyebrows look? Think twice before you do.
Before you sleep tonight neither one of us is Rihanna… Keep your eyebrows it's not that deep.

We vowed never to go back to the ’80s in terms of makeup. Let’s keep that promise.

Some people pointed out that South African women have been rocking this trend for ages, so we should probably stop getting all worked up. Look how it’s worked out for them:
South African women did those Rihanna eyebrows first! Now they are on the cover of British Vogue. Y'all are trendsetters, ladies ❤️ pic.twitter.com/KrP1vwtfZe

That looks pretty nice.
Dear South African child. Our Shoprite ladies started drawing their eyebrows years before Rihanna did, we will not let her and Vogue take this one away from us. pic.twitter.com/3AX4MHaUFV

So do we think pencil eyebrows are going to make a comeback in the US of A?
‘Tiny overplucked eyebrows with a thin line of pencil drawn over them were hideous the first time round, they remain hideous now despite Rihanna’
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

I’m not making my eyebrows skinny and Rihanna can’t make me
— Amanda Mull (@amandamull) August 1, 2018
Rihanna I respect you to the end but I’m never having thin eyebrows again.

Hmm, probably not.
This September issue of British Vogue featuring Rihanna marks the first time a black woman has graced the cover in the 102 years that magazine has been around. So while the eyebrows are fun to focus on, there’s a whole different aspect we should be celebrating.
