There’s nothing like a good shaming from a celebrity to make you do something. Well, that’s exactly what happened when the director of Crazy Rich Asians, Jon M Chu, as well as one of the film’s stars, Ken Jeong, ran into some young boys getting ready to see The Meg.
Jon Chu posted a video of the interaction on Instagram this past Sunday…
The caption reads…
And Jeong can be heard joking…
“I didn’t bribe these kids, relax. We’re all happy and in the same studio family — as I’m hiding the beer behind my back, lemme tell you something. These are my sons, and I have convinced my sons to watch Crazy Rich Asians…I didn’t pay them $20 each. Just everyone, relax. It’s fine.”
People were amused…
You don't see youth outreach like that anymore. I think Ken is in line for a Nobel prize or something. Hide that beer.

The film exceeded expectations at the box office.
People were all about it…
I just saw Crazy Rich Asians. I had a fever beforehand. When I left the theater it was gone.

And one person made a very good point…
Hrmmm… All these movies featuring people of color in leading roles keep “exceeding expectations”. Perhaps the problem has been the expectations themselves.

But most just offered up their praise for the film…
Crazy Rich Asians is simply wonderful – enjoyed every minute.
