Ariana Grande’s ‘Thank U, Next’ Message Has Inspired The Perfect Meme About Life Lessons

It’s been a whirlwind year for Ariana Grande. Between getting engaged and breaking it off, the young singer has learned some life lessons.

Despite all the chaos, though, her new song “Thank U, Next” dropped over the weekend and resonated with her fans, sparking lots of emotion. It changed the framing of Grande’s relationships from serial dater to a young woman finding herself.

The song’s lyrics also inspired a new meme.

There is one line that seems to stick in people’s heads.

After listing some of her high-profile past romances, the song describes how they affected her life. It’s a very simple concept but one that is easily applicable to other things in life.

“One taught me love
One taught me patience
And one taught me pain
Now I’m so amazing”

And, of course, the internet found their own “ones.”

Grande previewed the song for two of the men named within, but the song was released about thirty minutes before SNL, where Ariana’s ex, Pete Davidson, performs. Upon hearing it, he added some serious lines to wish Grande all the best.

The meme is giving people online an outlet to vent their own frustrations with love, if only fictional.

The lyrics fit a perfect three-piece structure that mimics the popular game “F***, Marry, Kill.” People have been picking their trio from pop culture references that fit each part of the lyrics. However, not every trio need be so divisive.

Sometimes, it just takes a painful memory.

Or maybe a painful present.
