Ivanka Trump Had The Creepiest Answer For Who Her ‘Ideal Man’ Was When She Was In Her 20s

There isn’t a whole lot we know about Ivanka Trump’s personal life. But thanks to a new podcast, we now know who her ideal version of a man was before meeting her future husband Jared Kushner in 2005.

Ivanka is somewhat of an enigma. Many people still question her qualifications as an official White House advisor to her father, President Donald Trump, while others question her lack of compassion over controversial policies like the family separation at the Mexican border.

To unlock the mystery that is Ivanka, reporter Vanessa Grigoriadis interviewed 60 of the businesswoman’s colleagues and friends for a podcast, titled, Tabloid: The Making of Ivanka Trump.

In a lengthy teaser created for New York Magazine, one peculiar tidbit about the 37-year-old fashion designer that emerged has the internet glitching.

Ivanka had the hots for Patrick Bateman

If you’re not familiar with fictional serial killers, Patrick Bateman is the disturbed protagonist and unreliable narrator in Bret Easton Ellis’s novel, American Pyscho.

You may have seen Christian Bale play the character to bloody perfection in the eponymous 2000 movie adaptation. And to be clear, it wasn’t the actor she was getting hot and bothered for.

Here is a snippet from the podcast teaser:

“In her 20s, she said her ideal man, the one she had fantasies about, was Christian Bale in American Psycho playing Patrick Bateman, who is, of course, an ’80s scenester just like her father was back then—suspenders, slicked-back hair, chops up women for a hobby.”

She sure knows how to pick ’em.

Rest assured, Kushner is not a blood-thirsty psychopath, but his political motives leave a lot to be desired.

But Ivanka’s primal lust for someone as successful as Bateman – a materialistic Wall Street investment banker with a penchant for drugs and prostitutes and conspicuous consumption who leads a double life presumably chopping up his victims – is a tad curious, don’t you think?

For a woman we didn’t know much about, everything somehow clicked with the strange revelation.

Maybe her taste in malicious men can be justified.

The report also mentioned that Ivanka modeled herself after Dagny Taggart, the protagonist of Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged who compensates for her brother’s shortcomings by dealing with operations for the family’s railroad company.

That literary comparison also tracks, to an extent.

In contrast to Ivanka’s maniacal fantasy man, Grigoriadis described Jared in a more favorable light.

At least in appearance.

“Jared is handsome when you first look at him, but upon contemplation, his face is a Cubist construction. The eyes seem to refract rather than reflect light, and he has an unpleasant cast to his mouth; what he’s turning over in his mind seems to be expressed less through words than through the railroad-straight set of his lips.”

What we want to know is: what violent thoughts are lurking behind those refractive eyes of his?
