A Man Just Explained How A Popular Vacation Spot Became A Chilling Ghost Town

 What was once a thriving tourist destination is now a sad reminder of the tragedies of war. The city of Varosha in Northern Cyprus was abandoned following a Creek Cypriot coup that led the Turkish military to invade. When it was all over the resort town was fenced off and left to rot. 

This week, novelist Paul Cooper posted a series of tweets documenting the rise and fall of the once beautiful coastal city.
