Photos Of Bill And Ted Back Together Have The Internet Very Excited

It has been almost thirty years since Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure first hit movie theaters. It followed two high school students and bandmates who were about to fail their history class. But never fear! With the help of a time traveling phone booth, Bill and Ted were able to glean enough facts to ace their final project. A sequel, Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey, came out in 1991.

Both movies have been cult hits for nearly three decades, and fans have been chomping at the bit for a trilogy, and it looks as if they may be getting their wish. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly published on Friday, original stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winters said they have a script for a third film entitled Bill and Ted Face The Music.

The magazine reports:

The result of their efforts is a script titled Bill & Ted Face the Music, which finds our intrepid explorers still struggling to complete the great work of their life. At the end of Excellent Adventure, futuristic mentor Rufus (George Carlin) told the teens that they would write music that would turn the world into a utopia. ‘You’re told you’re gonna save the world,’ Matheson says. ‘And now you’re 50 and you haven’t done it. Now they’re married, and it affects their marriages, and it affects their relationships with their kids, and it affects their everything.’

‘Everybody’s a little older now,’ notes Reeves. ‘A little afraid.’

Not surprisingly, Twitter users were thrilled. Many couldn’t wait:

Others felt a lot of nostalgia about the original movies:

But mostly, excitement reigned:

Let’s hope the internet excitement will translate to Bill and Ted Face The Music getting made!
