With all of the makeup sponges on the market now, it comes at no surprise that makeup giant Sephora is launching some limited-edition ones for their brand new, nautical collection. But, what does come as a shock is the major design flaw that no one saw in the planning process.
As a part of the Sephora Ocean Crush Collection, these limited-edition sponges were shaped to look like conch shells. Cute, right?
Well, not exactly. There are a ton of people who don’t see the seashell inspiration…
The coral-colored makeup sponge is drawing attention for all the wrong reasons…
People can’t help but notice the, erm, phallic shape and design. Basically, the internet believes that the sponge looks like a penis.
OMG I'm going to Sephora right now to pick up their new penis sponge! YAY! pic.twitter.com/SCWrCFSDGD

Twitter is having a field day, poking fun at the newly proclaimed ‘penis sponge’
Get your mind out of the gutter, people. But, then again…
Do they have a circumsized option??? Hahaga

I wonder if it gets bigger when you rub it gently

Seems small though.

Many are claiming that the flesh-toned hue is the main issue here.
It was meant to be coral like the rest of the collection, but perhaps a bright blue or purple would have been a better option?
liiiiiiiiike we could’ve done a color not so…..flesh toned

All they had to do was make it a different colour!!!

On a positive note, this laughable comparison might be making sales skyrocket…
Someone even wrote in the reviews, “I love bringing back the blending my makeup w/ a ballsack trend wow”
So does it vibrate too??…. asking for a friend…..

Twitter has already associated these sponges with, well, genitalia…

Bringing a whole new meaning to beating your face. Thanks, Sephora.
