When our pets are in pain, we feel it, too. The same was true for Maisy’s human Jane Dickinson. Dickinson feared the worst for the eight-year-old St. Bernard when the dog’s stomach appeared bloated and she began showing signs of pain. When local veterinarian Nick Blackburn of Paragon Veterinary Referrals performed a CT scan on the poor pooch, they thought their worst fear was confirmed: cancer.
However, while performing emergency surgery to remove the disease, they discovered that what they thought were tumors couldn’t have been further from the truth.
That’s right. Maisy was not malignant, but apparently she’d been hungry. And as anyone who has eaten four stuffed bears will tell you, you usually regret it. “This was not something we were expecting to find,” Dr. Blackburn confessed. “We all know certain dogs enjoy chewing things they shouldn’t, but managing to devour four full teddy bears is quite a feat.” A feat it was, especially since Maisy was able to swallow at least two of the bears whole. Maisy reportedly stole the toys from her chihuahua siblings, who, if they had any sense, said, “uh…sure…take them, just please don’t devour us.”
Twitter was rife with commentary.
He's probably not been walked enough if he's eating four teddy bears…

Didn't the owners wonder how the teddy bears were disappearing?

But users were quick to make sure that Maisy, regardless of gender, still enjoyed the benefits of “good boy” status.

While, thankfully, Maisy is out of danger and expects to make a full recovery, the same could not be said for the four stuffed bears. We hope that Maisy has learned not to always trust her gut and that these poor cubs won’t have died in vain.
