A whole lot of fighting has to take place in the DC Extended Universe world before we might see Henry Cavill’s Superman go up against Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam. First, Zachary Levi’s Shazam will do battle with Doctor Sivana. Then we may see a clash between Black Adam and Shazam. Then, when all of that is settled, perhaps Superman and Black Adam will have their turn.
Did you follow all that? It’s as confusing as a WWE tag team championship. Good thing Johnson AKA The Rock has some experience in these matters. We’ll leave all the details to the professionals just so long as we get to see Cavill and Johnson share the big screen.
The wait might not be as long as we think. Maybe. Or not. Recently, while speaking with MTV, Cavill teased us with this:
There’s a lot of things spinning around in the universe right now with that. Obviously if Black Adam does become a character officially, he will play him…
I’m pretty sure it’ll be a Shazam/Black Adam thing first. If it does happen, it would make sense that way. But you never know, maybe there will be a Superman movie and Shazam will come and help.
Cavill isn’t the only one who has been teasing us. Last year Johnson had this to say about the pairing in and interview with Fandago:
One fine day… that’s coming. That’s in the cards.
Johnson also sent out this tasty Instagram post.
And this tweet.

Fans are all about this pairing.
Calling the Road Map to Saving the DCEU Now. Ditch Justice League Films for now. Do Shazam bright, hopefully, funny. Superman Cameo. Lead into Black Adam. Shazam & Supes team up Vs Black Adam. Tease a greater threat for all Three by end. *SQUEEEEEEEEEEE

Joe, that IS the actual plan, has been for years. Get excited. ⚡️
There was a meeting in Dec 2016 to discuss how Superman Vs Black Adam would work, as seen below. pic.twitter.com/55I3LfKiIt

They should set up Adam first as a villain/antihero we can sympathies with and see a little but of us in him, so we can understand his motives. Similar to Thanos but way more indepth

We don’t care what characters they play just so long as they share some screen time. We’ll even take a remake of The Tudors with The Rock as Henry VIII to Cavill’s Duke of Suffolk.
