Another day, another racist Starbucks employee showing once again why the company needs to close down all its locations on May 29th for” racial-bias education geared toward preventing discrimination” training. This time it happened in the Los Angeles suburb of La Cañada, just in case people thought all racism was isolated to the southern states.
A Latino customer ordered his drink and when it arrived instead of his name Peter being printed on the ticket, the barista had entered the racist slur, “Beaner.” The man’s friend, Miguel Acosta told CBS2:
En español es ‘frijoleros’, ‘beaner,’ you know, in English. He went to Starbucks, and they asked for his name, and his name is ‘Peter,’ and they wrote this ‘beaner,’ And he’s saying that’s not fair. Mi amigo está triste también. My friend is also sad.
Starbucks issued the following statement:
This is not indicative of the type of experience we want our customers to have when they walk into our stores. We have apologized to the customer directly and are working to make things right.
No doubt during the May 29th racial-bias education Starbucks will talk about this type of disgusting behavior with their employees.
