Black 4th Grader Says Teacher Predicted He’d Be Shot By Cops At 16, And It Will Be His Fault

A young boy from Kansas, whose own father was shot and killed when he was just 7 months old, was reprimanded by a teacher who told him, “… when you turn 16 and the police shoot you, the only person you can be mad at is yourself.” The teacher’s comment made Malachi Pearson, the 10-year-old black boy, cry.

The Huffington Post reports that Malachi’s mother, Mahogany Foster, was enraged to learn what the unidentified teacher said to her son. “That was a low blow, and that was something personal,” she said of the teacher’s comment. “You shouldn’t say it to any child.”

According to Foster, the district assistant superintendent said that the teacher has been put on leave, but that she is unable to discuss the matter further.

Malachi was reportedly playing with his friend at lunch when the comment was made. He told Fox 4 KC, “Me and my friend were playing, and then she like pushed us away. We weren’t fighting. We were just playing and laughing.” Foster pulled her son out of school two days after the incident.
