Laura Ingraham, Fox News host of The Ingraham Angle, stated earlier this week that the facilities housing migrant children who have been taken from their parents are “essentially summer camps”. In her report she also quoted the San Diego Union-Tribune who called the facilities “basically boarding schools.”
Which inspired Parkland survivor David Hogg to once again go after Ingraham’s sponsors:
So @IngrahamAngle we meet again. Who are you biggest advertisers now?
— David Hogg (@davidhogg111) June 19, 2018
And others joined in:
Laura Ingraham @IngrahamAngle compared Trump Prisons to “summer camp”. RT to let her advertisers know you oppose child abuse@EatLiquidGold @Progressive @Gillette @GEICO @rubytuesday @Arbys @Duracell @RRPLUS @DollarShaveClub @AdvilRelief @Allstate @JennyCraig @Ford

Many of Hogg’s followers cheered him on:

[email protected] so grateful you are mobilizing to save us from our worst selves.

Apparently Ingraham has learned nothing from her previous rant. Every tv host, commentator, & guest that lies & delegitimize trump’s deplorable acts should be boycotted! Including Coulter saying “they’re child actors” is despicable as well. #BoycottFox

And this time, InterActiveCorp. (IAC) responded by pulling ads from two of its companies, Home Advisor and Angie’s List.
This is the second time Hogg has called for a boycott of The Ingraham Angle, the first time was earlier this year when Ingraham mocked Hogg for not being accepted into all of the colleges he applied for.
But Hogg’s haters were plentiful, of course:
And yet her ratings are up 14% since boycott…go figure ..just adding an extra tidbit of info….

The last time you called for a boycott of Laura Ingram’s advertisers ratings jumped up by 16%. Maybe this time her ratings will go up by double

After the heat died down, a few of her advertisers that left went back to her. Also, after the advert boycott, her ratings we're higher than ever.

Fox remains loyal in defending Ingraham’s comments stating, “Fox News will never tolerate or give in to attempts to silence diverse viewpoints by agenda-driven intimidation efforts.”
Both US and world history has shown us that detention centers of any kind are dangerous. Comments like Ingraham’s that attempt to equate these centers with fun-filled summer camps encourage people to ignore what is actually happening. Let’s hope it doesn’t work.
