While Princess Diana passed away in a fatal car crash in Paris about 21 years ago, her legacy is still strong in the imaginations of people worldwide. When her son, Prince William, married Kate Middleton, people looked for links between the royal’s new wife and his late mother. Now, Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, is getting the same treatment. It turns out that Princess Diana and Duchess Meghan are linked by a particular hobby.
“Amongst the throwback things that I love (a ’62 porsche speedster à la Dylan McKay in 90210, a bevy of Vargas girls, a Busby Berkeley film, or cooking over a charcoal grill), what trumps all is my love of writing (and receiving) a handwritten note.”
She went on…
“I absolutely relish it. I know my mailman’s name, I race to the door when the mail comes (usually just fliers or bills), but I always hold out hope there will be a letter. A sweet letter. And that I will have the tactile experience of un-creasing the paper, reciting the words, and holding someone’s thoughts in my hands.”
As it turns out, Princess Diana biographer Andrew Morton revealed that this was a hobby of Meghan’s late mother-in-law as well, stating about her wedding to Prince Charles…
“Diana sat down to answer many of the 47,000 letters of congratulation and 10,000 gifts which the wedding generated.”
People’s hearts were warmed…
Mother in law and daughter in law. ❤❤

Many had nostalgia for the days of the handwritten note…
Handwritten letters can never be compared to sent messages on phones. Never.
