On Friday, Donald and Melania Trump attempted to get away from the negative press by touring a children’s hospital and a Christian school in Columbus, Ohio.
The hospital visit was part of an effort to raise awareness of how the opioid addiction crisis affects infants.
But Trump’s attempt at off-setting what even Fox News called “Trump’s worst week” failed when he sat down to color with some kids at the school.
Alex Azar, the secretary of the US Department of Health & Human Services, posted about the day’s activities.
The opioid crisis is one of our top priorities at HHS, with a drumbeat of action on the full range of efforts where we can assist local communities. Today, I joined @POTUS & @FLOTUS in Ohio to learn how states and communities are responding to the challenge of opioid addiction. pic.twitter.com/NwxSoeNznA

The visit to the school got off to a rocky start with one kid repeating “I’m nervous!” as Trump entered the room.
But most hilariously, a little girl’s voice can be heard saying:
“I told you his hair wasn’t orange.”

The school visit continued to go downhill when Donald sat down to do what should have been a simple, and possibly winsome task — coloring the American flag with 1st graders.
But despite being surrounded by adorable children coloring, Trump ruined his own photo-op when he colored the flag wrong.
Yep, the President of the United States doesn’t know what the American flag looks like.
He even appears to peek at the paper of the little girl next to him.
The President has colored his flag wrong.
That is all. pic.twitter.com/wWXBgR9I6V

Either that, or he was feeling especially creative. Or he’s colorblind.
But based on his glowing health report, that should not be the case.
The photos were taken by a teacher named Talia. She posted them on her personal Twitter page.
They have since sent the internet into a frenzy.
And it appears he’s trying to copy off of the child next to him……..

I think this is more than just lack of attention or ignorance.
I'd expect that any American adult and most children would know that our flag has no blue stripes.
This seems more like a symptom of some some sort of mental deterioration. It's much more worrisome than disrespect.

I don't think this is trivial. Something is seriously wrong here with this man's thinking processes. It should be of major concern to American citizens if he is mentally not capable of coloring in an American flag.

This is funny but at the same time makes me sick….

Some people pointed out the inconsistency of Trump coloring the flag wrong, but extolling the flag as sacred when he attacks peaceful protesters.
He can't tweet about the NFL ever again.

Trump literally doesn't know what the American Flag looks like, but think's he has the right to tell people that they can not kneel during the National Anthem… pic.twitter.com/Wsd6sX0bFi

American flag's stripes are red and white.
Trump should know this, considering the fit he throws when someone kneels at a football game “disrespecting the flag”.
Trump is coloring blue and red stripes. ♀️ ♀️

But others pointed out that Trump’s blue stripe placement on the flag looked an awful lot like Russia’s.
Umm not if he's thinking of the flag for Mother Russia… I think he's on track
Gotta say my man has no shame anymore to blatantly show his “true colors” in public… Maybe he knows the walls are closing in and is thinking to hell with everything. pic.twitter.com/TxiieZsnE5

Maybe it’s not so wrong – looks like a poor attempt at the Russian flag … https://t.co/Y0teRphDZx

I like the theory that he was going for the Russian flag here. And screwed that up too. https://t.co/uDBx3jZt3P

Maybe since Trump accidentally gave the arts in America more funding he can get some lessons on where exactly the red, white and blue is on the United States flag?
