Bishop At Aretha Franklin’s Funeral Jokes About Confusing Ariana Grande With Fast Food Item

We all know Ariana Grande. The powerhouse vocalist gave a stirring performance of “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman”, the Carole King song that Aretha Franklin made famous, at the late singer’s funeral. However, it’s remarks made by Bishop Charles H. Ellis III, who presided over the funeral services, that are grabbing everyone’s attention. After Grande’s performance, Ellis called her over to the podium.

It was then that he stated…

“I’ve got to apologize because I have to brush up. My 28-year-old daughter told me, ‘You are old at 60.'”

Grande replied…

“What did you do? What happened?”

To which Ellis said…

“When I saw Ariana Grande on the program, I thought that was a new something at Taco Bell.”

A video of the awkward but funny interchange can be seen below…

Grande took it all in stride, playing off the moment by laughing, then saying…

“I love you, Aretha.”

…as she exited the stage.

People were shook…

Others were a little weirded out by the Bishop…

And noted her clear body language…

Instead of putting the focus on the awkward comments a man made about the singer, let’s instead focus on this incredible performance…
