Khloe Kardashian is known for frequently posting inspirational musings on Twitter. But a recent off-color tweet has her followers disappointed and are letting her know what she wrote wasn’t a good thing.
The 34-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star defended herself after racist trolls antagonized her biracial daughter, True Thompson, whom she had with her NBA player boyfriend Tristan Thompson.
I try to put myself in their shoes &maybe they were brought up in a different type of household then I was. So instead of shaming I try to educate. In our household we do not see color. We see emotion and action. We see love. We feed off of energy

What raised people’s eyebrows was Kardashian’s remedy for combating racial discrimination. “In our household we do not see color. We see emotion and action,” she declared.
It didn’t go over well with some of her followers.
See color! Embrace color! Love the differences as much as the sameness. Pretending you don’t see color is erasure. I know you think it’s well meaning, but it’s not. It’s an old liberal cop out to avoid discussing real racial issues.

Color is energy. You should see the emotion and action towards different peoples and make connections as to what is happening to them and why. People operate at different wavelengths. Referencing how you were raised? You’re 35. Do better. What kind of parent blinds their child?

Others cautioned her to be more woke and that her daughter should be proud of her roots instead of being raised to ignore them.
If you keep saying you don’t see color, you are going to reap the consequences of your daughter’s experiences. We don’t want anything bad to happen to her, however the world is CRUEL and SICK place and she as well as YOU need to be aware of reality

Wrong approach Khloe, you should see colour. It matters, your daughter should grow up knowing her roots and being proud of them. Not seeing colour erases one's identity. Consider that.

This is a great way to raise your daughter to hate herself. Embrace her color and the beauty and experiences that come w it. Stop pretending to be blind to our color so you can be deaf to our problems as well.

Terrifying that you’re raising a child of colour and in this day and age saying you don’t see colour
— temporarily black (@EyesofAnwulika) September 30, 2018
People were genuinely concerned for her daughter’s well being in a discriminatory society.
Yikes. From this mixed race child, please know you NEED to see color. Especially as her visually Caucasian mother. She WILL be treated differently than you and she WILL be treated differently than the other kids in the family. Please see that and please help her thru it.

This user asked the former Kocktails with Khloé host if True’s classmates see the world through the same lens as her mother’s.
Do your daughter classmates see color or just emotion & action?
— Madam (@TakeYour_Soul) September 30, 2018
This user reminded Kardashian that embracing diversity is an important early lesson.
Everyone sees colour. It isn’t about not seeing difference, it’s about being inclusive and open to that difference. We’re all different and thats what makes us unique.

This person said that True would be the one most affected by her experience of growing up black.
you don’t have that luxury. you are raising a black child who will experience things in her life that you can never experience yourself, and you have to be open to understanding that difference. whether or not you “see colour” doesn’t matter, other people do

Days before Kardashian gave birth to True on April 12, 2018, she weathered a scandal involving Thompson reportedly cheating on her with multiple women while she was expecting, according to People.
Thompson remains inactive on social media at her request.
