Instead of worrying about the incredibly bleak future of our planet, acting chief of the Environmental Protection Agency, Andrew Wheeler, has been spending his time using social media keeping up with conspiracy theories and liking racist depictions of the Obamas.
Wheeler, 53, is a former coal lobbyist and Republican aide. He is also a self-proclaimed “prolific social media user.”
American Bridge 21st Century, a Democratic political action committee, discovered several posts where Wheeler engaged in rather questionable behavior.
The first example of Wheeler’s extreme views was a January 2013 “like” on a racist Facebook post about Barack and Michelle Obama.
American Bridge 21st Century next uncovered a comment Wheeler made in July 2014 on a post regarding Hillary Clinton’s Christian faith.
In February, Wheeler retweeted Jack Posobiec, a right-wing enthusiast and propagator of the debunked “Pizzagate” conspiracy theory.
He also liked a post in which conservative documentary filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza discredited Christine Blasey Ford’s allegations against Brett Kavanaugh.
And Wheeler liked a Tweet by InfoWars editor Paul Joseph Watson, which bemoaned James Woods’ Twitter suspension.
People can’t believe how the EPA Chief is spending his time.
This should register more:
We have a UN report on climate change ÛÓ incorporating 6,000 scientific studies ÛÓ predicting catastrophe for most species within 50 years, and our racist-meme-liking, former-coal-lobbyist EPA administrator, Andrew Wheeler, hasnÛªt said a damn thing.

White racist devil, Andrew Wheeler, your people are on the wrong side of history and I love it. #reapsow
“EPA Chief Andrew Wheeler liked an image in 2013 depicting the Obamas staring at a white person's hand holding a banana.”

This is really vile stuff. You'd think republicans could find a fossil fuel lobbyist who's not also a racist lunatic to run the EPA. https://t.co/o7zVyagI9E

YouÛªd also think they could find a reliably conservative jurist not facing credible allegations of sexual assault and who throws angry partisan temper tantrums. But here we are. Once they convinced themselves Trump is ok, nothing is disqualifying.

Everything they do, every choice they choose – they show the world just how vile they are. How anyone can vote republican is insane. And also telling.

ItÛªs all good. IÛªd prefer my racists out in the open as opposed to pretending ÛÏweÛªre past thatÛ
— Taheed Watson (@TahWatson) October 9, 2018
He should be automatically removed from his position!!
— Doug Rothman (@DougRothman) October 10, 2018
There are plenty of conservative alternatives, but the cruelty is the point.
— Francisco Roberto (@ciscoru) October 10, 2018
Vile, but given what's been going on at the EPA for the past two years, not surprising
— Eve Ottenberg (@OttenbergEve) October 9, 2018
Mr. Wheeler, it is time that you stop entertaining the ideas of racists and lunatics and start focusing on the disappearing coral reef and food shortages that are a real threat to humanity right now.
