What is happening over at FOX News? First they went after Taylor Swift for voicing her political views, saying she should stay away from politics, all the while praising Kanye West for voicing his love for Donald Trump.
Now, they have set their sights on actress Jamie Lee Curtis for using guns in her latest installment of the slasher film Halloween. The news outlet implied Curtis is a hypocrite for using a gun in a movie while advocating for gun reform.

Responding to this, Curtis said:
It was just silly, because they were trying to make a point without ever asking me what I really think and what I think might surprise them. I am vocal about common-sense gun safety and gun laws for instance, I fully support an assault weapon ban, I fully support a bump stock ban.
BUT…
I fully support the Bill of Rights. And fully support the Second Amendment. And have absolutely no problem with people owning firearms if they have been trained, licensed, a background check has been conducted, a pause button has been pushed to give time for that process to take place. And they have to renew their license just like we do with automobiles ÛÒ which are weapons also.

…and they had her back!
It's beyond me why so many people see the words gun control and immediately think full on gun ban
— Reddogtag (@ReddogtagDiggs) October 11, 2018
Because a movie and reality are exactly the same. I support the Second Amendment and I own firearms. Guess what? I also support a ban on assault weapons. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Good for you! Common sense gun control isnÛªt anti second amendment! ItÛªs called ÛÏcommon senseÛ for a reason and you have it. _Ù÷ã

How can they try to shame you for doing what was in the script? Your character is who they are and you just portrayed it! What a pathetic world we live in. You gotta cater to everyone in every single aspect of your life or youÛªre shamed _Ùªã

Not everyone agreed, of course.
Although I disagree with your premise on assault weapons bc they donÛªt exist (AR-15 stands for armlite) I heard youÛªre stance & I too support the bill of rights & common sense gun laws (background check). I think your views are quite centrist left tbh. Fox should of asked you

I mean… firearms ARE legal and legal to carry with a permit.
Hell, even assault rifles are perfectly fine.
Remember: Clean backgrounds and legal permits donÛªt change crazy. People are the problem. Not guns. EVER

Let's see you shoot a shotgun & hit something in the split second of self-defense vs. doing the same w/ a semi-automatic rifle. Women who actually shoot guns prefer semi-auto rifles because of it's lightweight & accuracy. Thus, it's better for self-defense against home intruders.

FOX probably wasn’t banking on a civil conversation. Maybe they should be careful who they trash.
