Prince Harry And Meghan Are Having A Royal Baby—And We Have Some Questions

Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, got married only five months ago. But from the second they tied the knot, royal watchers were waiting for the next phase in their relationship.

Then on Sunday, we got this piece of news…

There was an official statement from Kensington Palace…

And this thank you for the well-wishes…

But whatever you do, don’t call the baby ‘prince’ or ‘princess’. William Hanson, a royal etiquette expert, explained to Mashable that the Queen is the only one with the authority to bestow such a title.

He explained…

“Any title given to the child will be at The Queen’s discretion and whim. Due to Prince Harry’s status as 6th in line to the throne, and as the child’s as 7th once born, it is unlikely it will be made a Prince or Princess, but we won’t know until after the birth. It is likely that it will be The Lord or The Lady Windsor. If the child is male it may take Prince Harry’s courtesy title – Earl of Dumbarton.”

Their child will only be a prince or princess if Queen Elizabeth issues a letters patent to do so.

People wished Harry and Meghan the best, including U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May…

People were beside themselves…

Congratulations!
