Rick Grimes May Have Exited ‘The Walking Dead’ TV Series—But AMC Isn’t Done With Him Just Yet

Andrew Lincoln isn’t gone from AMC’s The Walking Dead just yet.

In the last season, fans were anxious Grimes would die after the show advertised “Rick Grimes’ last episodes.” But it turns out that was just a red herring.

After blowing up a bridge to save family and friends, and being rescued, barely alive, by Jadis, Grimes’ fate was left unclear.

Now we know he will helm three separate projects for the series.

According to Variety:

“The AMC series veteran has signed on to play the iconic character Rick Grimes in multiple feature-length projects in development at the network.

“A series of AMC Studios Original Films, starring Andrew Lincoln and written by Walking Dead chief content officer Scott Gimple are planned to continue the story of Rick Grimes, with the first expected to begin production as early as 2019.”

Fans are having mixed reactions:

And many are wondering what this means for The Walking Dead.

Mostly, we just know Andrew Lincoln will be ready to slay.

Slay some zombies, that is.
