President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron have a “special” relationship. It sometimes involves one-sided hand-crushing.
Macron’s habit of squeezing Trump’s hand into oblivion developed over the last couple of years after an odd handshake by Trump at their first meeting. The weird handshakes between the two world leaders seems to have no end in sight.
Looks like Trump gave Macron the ol’ dead fish handshake at their recent meeting in Paris.
Heres the Trump/Macron handshake from today.
Trump looks like hes throwing up gangsigns. 😂😂😂

It’s unclear whether Macron actually likes Trump, despite all the firm handshakes and forced bromance between the two world leaders. Macron famously claimed that his previous vice-grip handshakes weren’t incidental, saying:
“One must show that you won’t make small concessions, even symbolic ones, but also not over-publicize things, either.”
The internet was in stitches after the latest awkward moment between Trump and Macron.
#macron and that handshake! 😍 Are you ok? Did it hurt? Please take care of your hand and stay dry. So hard to be you. So many dangers.

Macron totally dominated Trump with the handshake and knee touching, he looked really uncomfortable –
(Trump will probably respond with tariffs on French goods). pic.twitter.com/u4DQhVwUsG

Don't think the world isn't watching. Trump doesn't just lose the 'handshake' war, he won't even look Macron in the eye anymore. Then he hides in his hotel room playing on twitter all afternoon and sends Kelly to the Belleau ceremony. What's lower then laughingstock? pic.twitter.com/SypUBbJepb

I love that Macron is intentionally trying to make him look pathetic, from the handshake to the pats.

Why will Trump not give Macron a proper handshake?
The internet investigated.
Macron is really mensching out on Trump this weekend- first the handshake from hell, then the spirited lecture about the evils of nationalism right to his face.

Trump looks terrible. Bloated. Bursting out of his girdle. Weak handshake. He's in bad shape. pic.twitter.com/P0oJF6PgCb

After handshake Trump looked kind of angry😂

I really love how this trip has become “The Emasculation Of Trump Tour” between this handshake, the rain will mess my hair, the press calling him out on his lack of knowledge of history and geography… #OrangeManBad

Trump seemed to have a nicer handshake with Vladimir Putin later that day.
Hmm, wonder why?
Macron, Merkel and Trump get handshakes from Putin.

Looks like just a normal handshake versus Trump’s dead fish handshake. It would be difficult to make it look anything other than powerful against Trump’s
— Stewart (@willie1foot) November 11, 2018
Usually the person who gets the “last” touch is seen as more powerful.
Notice how Trump gives Putin a pat on the back after the handshake but Putin retaliates after shaking Melania’s hand by giving Trump one final pat 😂

The Washington Post described Trump and Macron’s relationship as a “broken bromance” after Macron diverged from the U.S President on several key issues.
Sadly, it appears Trump remains more comfortable cuddling up to Putin than other European leaders.
