Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is one of the rising stars of the Democratic Party. Because of that, she is often the target of conservative vitriol. But, luckily, the youngest incoming member of Congress is the queen of the clap back.
Earlier this month, conservative commentator and journalist John Cardillo posted a clip of Ocasio-Cortez with a snarky comment.
.@Ocasio2018 is a perfect example of why the Electoral College is so important.
Without it, the people who voted for her would make decisions for of us. https://t.co/ojZ23vPMKV

Ocasio-Cortez’s cardinal sin? She referred to the “three chambers of government” rather than “three branches of government.” Of course, Cardillo thought this meant she lacked the intelligence to serve in our government.
But Ocasio-Cortez is never one to let an insult stand, and she clapped back with this:
Ah yes, God forbid a diverse, working-class district (that more accurately represents modern America) actually have equal say in our democracy as your weird uncle with questionable racial beliefs who shares fake conspiracy memes on Facebook. https://t.co/1W6aUzDX7l

But a November 19 tweet from former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is grabbing people’s attention.
YIKES: Ocasio-Cortez Fumbles Basic Civics TWICE In 1 Statement https://t.co/5xkWeYjsPP
— Sarah Palin (@SarahPalinUSA) November 19, 2018
And Ocasio-Cortez had this to say about Palin sharing a link from her own website on Twitter and repeating the headline in her tweet:
Now that’s *TWO* fallen GOP Vice Pres candidates going after a freshman Congresswoman that’s not even sworn in yet.
Isn’t it a little early to be bringing out the big guns?
Especially when they look like the FWD:RE:FWD:WATCH THIS grandpa emails from the ‘08 election they lost https://t.co/TijjLgJ0MI
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@Ocasio2018) November 20, 2018
People thought that perhaps Palin wasn’t the best Republican to come for Ocasio-Cortez about civics.
Really @SarahPalinUSA? You’re going to go there? Should we rehash some of your many incorrect & often outlandish responses you had to political questions? Miss my idea of foreign policy is i can see Russia from Alaska? She who cost John McCain the election shouldn’t throw stones!

"[Paul Revere] did warn the British. And in a shout-out, gotcha-type of question that was asked of me, I answered candidly. And I know my American history." -Sarah Palin

Hah. She couldn’t name a single newspaper. Good times.

Sarah Palin isn’t ACTUALLY trying to attack anyone for misspeaking is she? Lolz
— David Starr (@TheProductDS) November 21, 2018
It should be noted that Palin never said she could see Russia from her house. That was Tina Fey as Sarah Palin in an SNL sketch.
It was Tina Fey that said she could see Russia from Alaska while she was portraying Sarah Palin. Palin never actually said that.
