There’s a surprising amount of history between now-Duchess Meghan Markle and model/media personality Chrissy Teigen.
Who knew?
Back in 2007, when both were relatively unknown in the public consciousness, they both appeared as “suitcase girls,” on the NBC game show Deal or No Deal!
Howie Mandel hosted the NBC primetime game show with a bevy of lovely young women holding aluminum suitcases, each containing a different prize.

The host also recalled working with several women who went on to bigger and better things.

The Telegraph reports that Markle was a mainstay of the program, appearing in “34 episodes of the show between 2006 and 2007,” while Teigen also can also be seen in “eight from 2007 to 2008.”
The two met while on set and, while speaking with The Daily Mail about her opinion on the royal family, Teigen opened up about her former coworker.
Chrissy Teigen about Duchess Meghan: “Everyone wants a good story, and I'm like, I just remember very quiet and sweet. I got nothing…Really kind, and I don't say that about anybody.”

Teigen, who now hosts Lip Sync Battle, said she’s an especially big fan of Markle’s.
She said that the then future Duchess was never anything but warm and kind on set:
“I was on Deal or No Deal with her and she was lovely. Now everyone asks me what she was like and I say, ‘Sorry, no dirt.’ She’s gorgeous.”

The pair would meet again during DirecTV’s Beach Bowl in 2014.
From those (comparatively) humble beginnings on Deal or No Deal, Markle and Teigen have now burst into the public consciousness.
Both stars released cookbooks earlier this year, and Chrissy couldn’t say enough nice things about Markle’s Together: Our Community Cookbook.
“I love the freshness she brings, and her cookbook Together is my only pre-order of the year. It’s beautifully done and you can tell how important it is to her. You see how she interacts with people and gets down to eye level with kids.”
The love fest was shared by many online.
