Jay-Z Just Came For Kanye West On New Meek Mill Track

Designer and musician Kanye West shocked the nation recently after delivering a rambling pro-Trump diatribe in the Oval Office with Trump himself.

Despite being famous for his confrontational style and his willingness to be unconventional, many fans were dismayed that their one-time idol would favor the man currently occupying the White House. That dismay extends to Trump’s colleagues too, as Jay-Z’s verse on the new Meek Mill album.

In the song, titled “What’s Free,” Jay-Z addresses West for leaping to please the President, but he also criticizes the public for so eagerly consuming West’s breakdown and pitting he and Ye against each other.

Jay-Z raps:

No red hat, don’t Michael and Prince me and Ye / They separate you when you got Michael and Prince’s DNA / I ain’t one of these house n*ggas you bought / My house like a resort, my house bigger than yours / My spo—c’mon, man—my route better of course…”

Though Kanye West says he is no longer involved with politics or with the President, many still applauded Jay-Z for mentioning it.

As “What’s Free” began to set the internet on fire, Jay-Z had to clarify that the verse wasn’t intended to be a diss toward Kanye, with whom Jay-Z has been friends for decades.

And people listened.

While Jay-Z may detest Kanye’s previous support for Donald Trump and Trump’s exploitation of Kanye, it’s clear that the bond between Kanye and Jay-Z can’t be broken with just one verse.
