Christian Bale Says He Thinks Trump ‘Thought I Was Bruce Wayne’ When They Met ????

Christian Bale’s newest film, Vice, recently had its red carpet premiere. The film will open in theaters on Christmas EveVice chronicles the inside story of Dick Cheney (played by Bale) as the Vice President to George W. Bush (Sam Rockwell). The star-studded cast also features Amy Adams as Lynne Cheney and Steve Carell as Donald Rumsfeld.

The red carpet did not disappoint.

Naturally, a show about politics and American politicians would bring about discussions of today’s political leaders. While on the red carpet, Bale brought up an interaction he had once with President Donald Trump.

Variety asked Bale,

“OK, movie about Donald Trump. Who should play Donald Trump?”

Bale took the opportunity to reflect on when he once met the now-President.

“I met him, one time. We were filming on Batman in Trump Tower and he said, come on up to the office.”

Bale continued to tell Variety that he did, indeed, go up to his office, and what happened next is nuts.

“I think he thought I was Bruce Wayne, because I was dressed as Bruce Wayne. So he talked to me like I was Bruce Wayne and I just went along with it, really. It was quite entertaining. I had no idea at the time that he would think about running for president.”

People cannot process this new information.

“When you feel stupid remember that Trump thought that Christian Bale was actually Bruce Wayne ????????????”

The actor also tied his anecdote back to the film, which can be purchased in trilogy here.

“And this story [Vice], you know, is part of how we got to be here with that… ‘individual number one’ being president.”

Indeed.
