This Instagram Account Devoted Entirely To Pissed Off Women In Spectacular Coats Is Everything ????

Meryl Streep’s incomparable performance as Runway editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly may have madeThe Devil Wears Prada the stuff of legend, but her character had a secret ingredient: a smorgasbord of badass coats that she freely plopped onto the desks of overworked assistants.

But, as one new Instagram account is pointing out, this special piece of flare has been a staple of unbothered women throughout history.

Excellentcoatsonirritatedwomen began posting just two days ago, inspired by once and future Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s exit from a tumultuous meeting with President Donald Trump regarding government funding and a border wall. The burnt orange Max Mara coat she wore at the time was originally out of commission but, thanks to Speaker Pelosi, it will now be reissued. Excellentcoatsonirritatedwomen’s very first post added fuel to that fire by pointing out the fierce jacketry.

Since its inception, the account has posted numerous badass women of the present and the past—all accompanied by coats befitting their fierceness. The legendary figures feature the likes of first black female Congresswoman (and presidential candidate) Shirley Chisolm, incoming Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Princess Diana of Wales, Rosa Parks, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Angela Davis, and more.

The images are always accompanied by gag-worthy captions.

Being a new account, it posted some wig-snatching ground rules once it took off.

And the 4200+ followers the account gained in two days are rightly LIVING for it.

Here’s to many more posts from Instagram’s latest viral account, and to the badass women—in coats or out—who inspired it.
