Drew Barrymore Shares Honest Message About Hollywood Glamour In Tearful Instagram Post

Actress, producer, director, author, model and entrepreneur Drew Barrymore has had a tumultuous relationship with fame.

Between growing up in a famous acting family entirely employed by Broadway and Hollywood and taking the spotlight at the age of 6 in Steven Spielberg’s E.T.,  the actress has experienced many personal and professional ups and downs while navigating her career.

Drew’s father, John Drew Barrymore, had four children with four wives with each marriage ending in divorce. His father was famed stage actor John  Sidney Barrymore who dominated acting circles for decades together with Drew’s Great-Uncle Lionel and Great-Aunt Ethel.

Her mother Ildiko Jaid Mako acted occasionally, but dove into promoting Drew’s career as her manager.

Now, Drew has a message for anybody who may be going through something rough right now. She took to Instagram to share two sides of her “glamorous Hollywood life.”

The post showcases two completely opposite Drew Barrymores.

One shows  “two hours of hair and makeup and amazing photography and lighting” and the other shows a Barrymore on the “days [that] are difficult and not so pretty.”

Barrymore, now 43, encourages her followers to work through days like her second photo.

“I realize I am lucky with solvable problems and my gratitude is never ending,” she disclaims.

“But sometimes life can just get to you and take you down for a minute! But we cry and then pick ourselves up and put one foot in front of the other.”

Barrymore has always been open about her struggles.

Barrymore, just one day before this Instagram post, shared a thoughtful reflection on the decision between her and ex-husband Will Kopelman to split for good.

“I remember reading an article that said I had gotten my happy ending after all. Looking at this picture, it sure looks that way. And then, like many times in life for all of us, our plans change and our dreams are adjusted.”

But Barrymore says she regrets nothing.

“After all, I did get my dream. 2 healthy girls.”

“[My daughters have] made me such a calmer, better person,” she previously said to TODAY .

“I’ll never take the tone with them of work is bad, my past is bad, life is bad. This is the adventure and journey we’re on, but you have to be nice, and safe.”

Except, of course, when they’re strewing powdered sugar around the house.

All of it is a gentle reminder to put one foot in front of the other.

And fans are sending as much love back in her direction as possible.
