Twitter user @alecyewest shared a video of his stepfather opening his Christmas present and Twitter is all abuzz.
Alec’s stepfather has been raising him since he was three years old, so he thought it was about time they made the relationship official.
He put the official adoption papers inside a nice gift bag and gave them to his stepfather on Christmas.
As soon as he read the papers, Alec’s stepdad burst into joyful tears.

That made me cry. My step dad adopted me. The greatest thing is knowing you are wanted. ❤️ Merry Christmas to all of you.

I cried. My “stepfather” adopted us when he married our mom and I feel the exact same way. After my mom died and he remarried, I was the best man at his wedding, and it was one of the proudest moments of my life.

My husband raised my boys as his own since they were 4 and 6, and they asked him to adopt them a few years ago (both in their late 20s now.) This is a wonderful gift for you and the whole family. Congratulations! ❤️

My stepdad helped raised me from 4 to pretty much 21 when I moved out, however, he adopted me when I was 10 and I made this decision at 7. I relate to these stories very well. Congrats to your stepdad.

The gift of love is the greatest you can give, and Alec has certainly given it to his dad this Christmas!
