Chris Rock Just Made It Very Clear He Has Zero Interest In Hosting The Oscars Again ????

One of the biggest mysteries of awards season is who is going to host the Oscars. Well, now we know it’s definitely not going to be Chris Rock. The comedian, actor, and two-time Oscars host appeared at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards dinner.

While he was presenting an award to Eighth Grade director Bo Burnham, Rock said:

“Steve Martin is here. You should host the Oscars. You’re the best. Steve Martin should host the Oscars! Because I’m not doing it, goddammit! You’re not getting me.”

The February 24 broadcast has been left hostless after controversy erupted surrounding homophobic comments made by Kevin Hart on Twitter in which he advocated for violence against male-assigned children who express femininity. Hart refused to apologize until after he was fired from the hosting gig.

Jokes made at the expense of queer people seem to be commonplace for Hart.

And when Hart claimed he had previously apologized for these tweets, Jonah Weiner, who had interviewed Hart for Rolling Stone in 2015, cried foul.

Weiner had this to say:

Despite Chris Rock putting in a plug for Steve Martin to replace Kevin Hart, people seemed to have other ideas.

The Oscars are only six and a half weeks away. Who will host remains up in the air.
