There Is More Bad News For Britney Spears Fans

Is there any group of fans more unfortunate than the ever-loyal supporters of Britney Spears?

The answer is NO and that’s impossible to deny that so don’t even try.

Fans’ hearts went out to the Spears family last week when it was announced Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, is suffering from a life-threatening illness and ruptured colon.

Though he’s expected to make a full recovery, Britney announced she would be going on an indefinite work hiatus (what?!) and canceling her show, Britney: Domination, at the MGM in Las Vegas (NO!) so she could stay by her father’s side.

People who had not yet caught the amazing show were devastated. They’ll have to console themselves with vintage Britney’s Live From Las Vegas performance.

No official recording of Domination has been released, but Live From Las Vegas is available here.

Obviously, Britney is making the right choice here. Missing a concert means very little compared to missing out on one’s father in his time of need.

That having been said, many Britney fans are now looking for their fix of Spears and it doesn’t seem to be coming any time soon.

It now also seems that Spear’s new album will be delayed (which was strangely NOT the front page story on most of the major news sites).

Larry Rudolph, Britney’s manager, told Entertainment Tonight:

“Everything is on hold right now until [her father] Jamie is better. But once he is, she will resume working on the album with Justin. Right now, she’s taking some time off to deal with these family issues.”

The singer’s new album will be a collaboration with producer Justin Tranter, who’s worked with Imagine Dragons, Selena Gomez, and had four writing credits on Spears’s 2016 album Glory.

Tranter’s talent, combined with the unstoppable star power of Britney Spears, positions this new album as the potential best seller of all time*.

Fans, though understanding of the Spears family’s hardship, were disappointed they’d have to wait even longer for Britney’s tenth album.

Others, however, don’t mind waiting.

They know “B10” is going to be a game-changer whether it drops tomorrow or ten years from now.

Britney announced her hiatus on January 4th in a statement to her fans, saying:

“I am dedicating my focus and energy to care for my family. We have a very special relationship and I want to be with my family at this time just like they have always been there for me.”

“Thank you to all my fans for your continued love and support during this time. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and I look forward to the time when I can be back on stage performing for all of you.”

No need to apologize, Britney, life happens!

And until you return in person, we’ve always got these recordings of your brilliance:
