Nothing like a day at the amusement park, right‽‽
The rides! The junk food!
The birds dive-bombing you in the face while riding the roller coasters.
At least, that’s what happened to a 10-year-old Australian girl named Paige, whether she liked it or not. She was riding the DC Rivals Hypercoaster at the Warner Brothers Movie World park in Queensland, Australia with her uncle when an ibis dive-bombed her directly in the dome.
THANK GOD, the amusement park provides video clips, which Paige’s mother Nicole bought and posted to Facebook so we could all see her daughter get beak-attacked—I mean, sneak-attacked—by a bird:
What’s remarkable about this video isn’t so much the attack itself but the fact that Paige just soldiers on enjoying the ride after it occurs.
I mean, watch it again: that bird is HUGE!
And this particular ride goes up to 70 mph. So this was no small impact.
But, like the strongest among us, Paige just hurls a few profanities and goes on about her journey screaming her head off with delight.
An inspiration! A legend! An icon!
Anyway, Paige was fine in the end.
As Nicole wrote on her Facebook post:
“She had feathers on her and a beak scratch on her right shoulder. She’s completely shocked, a little bruised but ok.”
But as for the Ibis… well, as Nicole puts it:
Not sure about the bird?”
Thoughts and prayers for a speedy recover, Mr. Ibis. Or rest in peace, whichever applies.
Anyway, on the internet people, much like Paige herself, were basically like LOL WTF!

Maybe Fabio can call and share some recovery tips.

It also turns out that this particular type of bird, the Ibis, is infamous in Australia. Often found rooting around in people’s trash, it has earned the nickname “bin chicken” and become something of an ongoing viral meme Down Under.
So it seemed most of the Aussies viewing the video were pretty firmly NOT on Team Bin Chicken!

Though in the bird’s defense…
Rogue bird was just flying around minding its own business when a roller coaster got in the way.

But despite all that, for some the most important detail of this story was that Paige’s uncle is FOIN.
Moral of the story?
When riding theme parks rides, BEAK CAREFUL. I’ll see myself out…
