Roger Stone Calls Jeff Sessions An ‘Insubordinate Hillbilly,’ Urges Trump To Fire Him

Trump supporter and advisor Roger Stone is stoking the flames of an already embattled administration.

At a rally that was a little anticlimactic to be called “the Mother of all Rallies,” Stone railed against 2016 presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, Special Counsel Robert Mueller and, most bitingly, against the President’s favorite punching bag: Jeff Sessions.

After calling for the president to fire Sessions, Stone referred to him as “Keebler elf” and “insubordinate hillbilly.”

While Stone’s taunts probably won’t lose the President any supporters, it surely won’t do Trump any good. One of the revelations in legendary journalist Bob Woodward’s new book, Fear: Trump in the White House, is the President’s mocking of Sessions, allegedly calling the attorney general “mentally retarded” and a “dumb southerner.”

After Southern lawmakers stuck up for their region, albeit without calling the President out by name, Trump took to Twitter to deny the statements.

Trump has, however, been recorded using the exact phrase “mentally retarded” on the Howard Stern Show, and he allegedly mocked the parents of ex-wife Marla Maples for being Southerners, as a New York Times article pointed out.

It’s also no surprise that Roger Stone would call for the firing of some of the Justice Department’s most formidable figures. Some suspect that the advisor is next for indictment in Mueller’s probe into possible collusion between the Russian government and the Trump campaign.

Stone’s name calling caught attention on social media.

Stone’s sentiments, while harsher, echo Trump’s insults toward Sessions, who he himself appointed.

While Stone may have riled up spectators at the rally, it’s hard to believe these comments will do the President any favors in the South.
