When planning your guest list for a wedding, the bride and groom have to draw the line somewhere. There are inevitably some friends and family who not be invited due to logistical limitations—that tent can only hold so many! Your budget might not extend to inviting your second cousin’s ex-wife’s stepchild’s best friend. That’s fairly normal. What’s NOT normal is revoking your entire family’s invitations because you’re a vegan and decided that people who eat meat are murderers.
After posting her story to the Facebook page “VEGAN REVOLUTION” an unnamed bride has become infamous online for appearing to kick her entire wedding out of her wedding:
The story was fleshed out by an enraged bridesmaid who posted about the situation:
Shortly thereafter, the bride returned to her post to add an update. At this time, she also switched off comments—apparently, she was receiving more heat for her decision than she was expecting.
Before she turned off the comments on her post, several of the bride’s fellow vegans questioned the rationality of her behavior:
Meanwhile, the jilted bridesmaid continued to expand on the situation in threads elsewhere:
The bride, perhaps sensing the public’s opinion was against her, continued trying to make her point.
That’s when another bridesmaid entered the fray, claiming the family had been nothing but supportive of the bride’s veganism!
It seemed all of the wedding’s former bridesmaids were on social media, offering background on the ill-fated nuptials.
“So silly! Live your life and let others do the same!!”
“When you have so much empathy that you stop empathizing with your own family.”
“Dodged a bullet with that wedding”
“They are probably relieved to be able to not go without feeling guilty about it.”
