Fox News’s Jeanine Pirro Went Off The Deep End In An Absurd ‘Cows Farting’ Rant Against The Green New Deal

You know, sometimes we forget that Fox News isn’t really considered “news,” so when we see graphics that feature cows expelling gigantic farts into the atmosphere, it’s bound to throw us for a loop.

But that’s exactly what happened on a segment hosted by Fox News personality Judge Jeanine Pirro, who used the oddball graphic to make a point against Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s proposed Green New Deal, a much-talked-about carbon-slashing infrastructure plan that has kept the denizens of Fox in a tizzy since it was formally introduced.

Noting that the plan aims to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2030, Pirro claimed that the reason for the plan’s use of the term “net” rather than just “zero” is because the plan’s supporters are “not sure they’ll be able to get rid of bovine flatulence, a.k.a. cows farting.”

It gets better, though. Pirro seemed utterly convinced that there’s a conspiracy against innocent bovines, and we’d find it really hard to believe that she said any of this with a straight face if video evidence of her performance didn’t exist.

“These emissions from cows are a concern to the left because these bovine emissions have an environmental impact and the methane gas produced by the bovine flatulence contributes to the greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming,” Pirro said. “Need I say more?”

We wager you’d have an easier time comprehending the audacity of this image if you see it for yourself. (It starts around the 3:37 mark in the video below.)

The text of the deal is considerably less bonkers in what it suggests than Pirro lets on.

Let’s read the ACTUAL DOCUMENT, shall we?

In response to “Why 100% clean and renewable and not just 100% renewable? Are you saying we won’t transition off fossil fuels?” in a document compiling frequently asked questions about the nature of the deal, you can read the following paragraph:

“Yes, we are calling for a full transition off fossil fuels and zero greenhouse gases. Anyone who has read the resolution sees that we spell this out through a plan that calls for eliminating greenhouse gas emissions from every sector of the economy. Simply banning fossil fuels immediately won’t build the new economy to replace it — this is the plan to build that new economy and spells out how to do it technically. We do this through a huge mobilization to create the renewable energy economy as fast as possible. We set a goal to get to net-zero, rather than zero emissions, in 10 years because we aren’t sure that we’ll be able to fully get rid of farting cows and airplanes that fast, but we think we can ramp up renewable manufacturing and power production, retrofit every building in America, build the smart grid, overhaul transportation and agriculture, plant lots of trees and restore our ecosystem to get to net-zero.”

See that, Jeanine?

That’s called sarcasm.

Pirro’s statements had people online scratching their heads.

We’ll recover from this as soon as the fabric of time manages to repair itself.

Now, let’s be totally clear: It shouldn’t surprise us one bit that Pirro thinks this way about the Green New Deal. According to her colleagues at Fox News, Representative Ocasio-Cortez is a socialist devil.

Last week, Fox News host Laura Ingraham, host of The Ingraham Angle, called on wealthy CEOs to defend their “way of life in this country” from the “latest socialist fad” amid the results of several polls (including at least one conducted by those at the Fox News network) that have found that more Americans view socialism as a viable alternative to capitalism.

Protecting the environment and making (already fragile) billionaires feel like strangers in a strange land is bad, mmkay?

What a world.
