This Video Of Theresa May Learning How To Play Pool Is Getting Roasted By Twitter

Theresa May showed she was prepared to take her cue from a European leader as she joined him in a game of pool.

The Prime Minister was filmed learning how to hold a pool cue with her Italian counterpart Giuseppe Conte on Sunday night.

Mr. Conte posted a video online showing a group gathered around a pool table, and he hands a cue to Mrs. May, inviting her to play.

In the video, captioned “Let’s play pool @theresa_may”, the Prime Minister can be heard telling Mr. Conte that she will be “hopeless” and that he will have to show her how to play.

After Mr. Conte takes a shot, he invites Mrs. May over to one end of the table and chalks her cue.

At this point, Mrs. May’s chief of staff Gavin Barwell begins to explain and demonstrate how she should hold the cue.

The video cuts out before she takes a shot, leaving viewers with a cliffhanger ending.

Mrs. May and Mr. Conte were both attending the EU-League of Arab States summit in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.

Retweeting the video, Chief Secretary to the Treasury Liz Truss, joked: “Pleased to see nothing’s been taken off the table.”

Let’s just say Twitter wasn’t super impressed, and took the opportunity to give May a good roasting:

It turns out that people don’t particularly care for seeing their leaders playing literal games when their countries are in crisis.

Who knew?
