Renewable energy continues to be a sticking point for Donald Trump.
On Tuesday, while speaking to Sempra Energy employees in Louisiana, Trump continued blowing hot air and proved he is still clueless about wind power.
“When the wind doesn’t blow you don’t watch television that night. Your wife says, ‘what the hell did you get me into with this Green New Deal, Charlie?'”

Did you hear the hesitant courtesy applause that was even more awkward?
It seems none of Trump’s advisers informed him about how stored electricity works.
He believes that wind power doesn’t work when there’s no breeze rifling through his hairpiece.
He also called AOC’s Green New Deal proposal a hoax.
“That’s a hoax like the hoax I just went through. Under that deal, everybody in this room gets fired. All of the thousands of guys and women standing on these buildings gets fired.”
What is his obsession with the wind? Twitter had some ideas.
This is the only reason why trump hates the wind

We know where his priorities lie in the absence of a breeze.
The most horrifying thing he can think of is not being able to watch television.

Can’t watch Fox and Friends?
Get out the portable generator, Melania!

He didn’t know his audience.
The “let’s pretend not to know what batteries are” bit is a tough sell to literal energy workers. https://t.co/H2lfNy3jK9

That’s the thing: he has zero shame or self-consciousness about being in a room of smarter or more informed people because he genuinely doesn’t believe that exists. He seriously thinks he’s the smartest and his understanding is the correct view without exception.

The dilemma people are currently facing is whether to mock Trump or be deeply concerned.
That's not how wind power works. This is pure stupidity. https://t.co/Iyk5YWwKxs

This is also why smartphones only work when they’re plugged in. https://t.co/BXIIHjCJmy

Batteries dumbass. Energy storage.
Stable genius my ass.

Imagine being this confused about wind energy and also controlling one of the world’s most sophisticated nuclear arsenals https://t.co/FIchwtgZcb

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any weirder, the president followed through.
Tuesday’s speech was another rambling session that seemed more like a campaign rally.
As usual, nothing substantive spouted from the wind tunnel inside his head.
